How To Create A Photography Timeline For Your Wedding Day
One of the most asked questions I have gotten in the 8 years I’ve been doing photography is, ‘How do we create a timeline for the photographer on our wedding day?’. This timeline is very important to ensure that your photographer has enough time to photograph each section of your day. It’s always best to allocate as much time as possible for each section to ensure that your photographer can capture it in full. Of course you will have to take a look at the package that you have booked and make sure the time you allocated fits into your photography package. How do you do this? Well, that’s why I’m here to help! I’ve created a list to give you an idea of what the minimum amount of time is that your photographer will need in order to successfully capture each part of your wedding day.
This timeline is also crucial in order to figure out when your make-up artist need to arrive and if you only have one photographer on the day, what time the groom and groomsmen need to be ready by in order to have their pictures taken (or be a deciding factor in whether or not you will need a second photographer or longer package for the day).
Please feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions regarding this topic or if anything is unclear. The video was filmed very quickly while my son was napping in order to still have daylight (it’s pretty much winter in South Africa) and I might have my thoughts mixed up a bit but I thought it was still better to post it and explain a little more about why I suggest certain amounts of time for each part.
I sincerely hope you find this helpful! Just click on the link below to view the timeline!
